Aircraft Equipment Mechanic Career Required Training
Most mechanics who work on civilian aircraft are certificated by the FAA as either an "Airframe mechanic," "avionics repair specialist" or "power plant mechanic." Those who also have an inspector's authorization can certify work that's been completed by other mechanics and perform required inspections. Those who are uncertified are supervised by those with certificates.
