Clinical Laboratory Technician Career Description
Clinical laboratory technicians play an important part in the treatment and detection of diseases. They do this through diagnostic tests and use a variety of instruments including microscopes, various chemicals and computers. They work closely with physicians as their tests are crucial in determining the status of a patient's health and whether they are improving or not. Computers play an increasingly vital role as many of the diagnostic tests are computerized in one way or another. The technicians also tend to be very busy. A major hospital may in fact do about two million tests in a year.
