Court Reporter Career Required Training
Prospective court reporters undergo a two- or four-year training program. While there are about 160 of these programs in the United States, the National Court Reporters Association has only approved about 86 of them. That's because these programs are those that require their reporters to capture at least 225 words per minute-the minimum accepted by the federal government for hire.
Some states require court reporters to be Notary Publics or a Certified Court Reporter.
