Pittsburgh, PA Schools and Universities
Established in 1758 Pittsburgh is the largest port in the US with access to the nations waterway system. Still one of the greatest steel making centers of the world, though it has declined in recent years, Philadelphia also concentrates on newer industries such as computer services, which have become economically important to the city's vitality. It lies near the Ohio River in southwestern Pennsylvania and has more than 720 bridges, more than any US city. Three Rivers Stadium is home to the Steelers as well as the Pirates. In addition, the Penguins hockey team plays at Civic Arena. Like many other big cities Pittsburgh suffers from a large pollution and has been called the "Smoky City," however, since the 1950's, urban renewal projects have been going on and a migration to the suburbs has taken place causing the inner city's population to decrease. Pittsburgh has a lot to offer potential student.
