System Administrator Career Description
Computer support specialists provide technical assistance, support and advice to customers and other users. These troubleshooters - whose job titles include technical support specialists and help-desk technicians - interpret problems and provide technical support for software, hardware and systems. They answer phone calls, analyze problems using automated diagnostic programs and resolve recurrent difficulties.
Network or computer systems administrators design, install and support an organization's LAN, WAN, network segment and Internet or Intranet systems. They provide day-to-day onsite administrative support for users in a variety of work environments, including offices, small businesses, government agencies and large corporations.
