System Administrator Career Required Training
There are multitudes of ways that workers can become a computer support specialist or a systems administrator. While there is no universally accepted way to prepare for a job as a computer support specialist, many employers prefer to hire those with some formal college education. For some jobs, a bachelor's degree in computer science is a prerequisite, others may require only a computer-related associate degree. Systems administrators may find that many jobs seek applicants with bachelor's degrees, though not necessarily in a computer-related field.
Those without a degree may find that many companies are becoming more flexible in hiring them for support positions, due to the exploding demand for specialists. Nonetheless, certification and practical experience will be essential for successful applicants. Completion of a certificate training program - offered by a variety of vendors and product makers - may help some people to qualify for entry level positions.
